Die Struktur des radikalischen Liganden hängt nicht vom Metall ab, die Zusammensetzung des SOMO dagegen schon. Dies könnte die viel geringere Reaktivität des Ni-Komplexes erklären, ebenso wie die Tatsache, dass natürliche GO ein CuII-Zentrum bevorzugt.
