Get Free AccessFew-layer graphene can be chlorinated up to 56 wt.% by irradiation with UV light in a liquid chlorine medium. The chlorinated sample decomposes on heating or on laser irradiation releasing all the chlorine. Similar results have been obtained with the bromination of few-layer graphene.
